Description
Serve guests at a soda fountain by preparing and dispensing fountain drinks, milkshakes, floats, and ice cream desserts. Take orders, process payments, and maintain clean, well-stocked counters, equipment, and service areas.
- • Greet customers, take soda fountain and dessert orders, and answer questions.
- • Enter orders in the POS, compute bills, and issue receipts.
- • Accept cash or electronic payments and make accurate change.
- • Mix and dispense fountain sodas to proper syrup and carbonation ratios.
- • Prepare milkshakes, malts, floats, and phosphates using mixers safely.
- • Scoop and serve ice cream cones, cups, sundaes, and banana splits.
- • Add sauces, fruits, nuts, and whipped cream garnishes per order.
- • Package beverages and desserts for takeout and label items.
- • Call out order numbers or deliver completed items to guests.
- • Restock cups, lids, straws, napkins, cones, and utensils.
- • Refill syrups, toppings, dairy, and CO2; rotate stock and monitor dates.
- • Maintain and sanitize fountain heads, nozzles, spindles, and scoops.
- • Wash glasses, dishes, and barware; return clean items to service areas.

- • Sweep and mop service and prep areas to keep the fountain sanitary.
- • Clean and organize freezers, fridges, and dry storage.
- • Replenish items at the serving station during peak periods.
- • Notify supervisors of shortages, equipment issues, or special requests.
- • Follow food safety and allergen protocols to prevent cross-contact.
- • Balance cash drawers and reconcile receipts at shift end.
- • Set up and break down the soda fountain station for opening and closing.
