Description
Serve and assist guests in a cafeteria setting by portioning and serving food and beverages, taking orders, operating POS systems, and maintaining clean, safe, and well-stocked service areas. May prepare simple menu items and support kitchen and dining room operations.
- • Follow allergen, sanitation, and workplace safety policies.
- • Resolve customer concerns or escalate issues to a supervisor.
- • Wrap and label items for takeout or grab-and-go service.
- • Greet guests and answer questions about daily menus and ingredients.
- • Take and record meal orders and assemble trays or plates.
- • Portion and serve hot and cold foods from steam tables, salad bars, and beverage stations.
- • Add condiments and garnishes per request and portion guidelines.
- • Operate POS registers, accept payments, and make change.
- • Balance cash drawers and reconcile receipts at shift end.
- • Prepare simple items such as salads, sandwiches, soups, and beverages following food safety standards.
- • Brew coffee and tea and refill beverage dispensers.
- • Replenish and rotate foods on serving lines to maintain freshness and availability.
- • Monitor and record holding temperatures and follow HACCP procedures.
- • Restock utensils, napkins, condiments, and service ware.
- • Notify kitchen of low stock, shortages, and special or allergen orders.
- • Clean and sanitize counters, steam tables, sneeze guards, and equipment.
- • Bus tables and return dirty trays and dishes to the dish room.
- • Wash or stage dishes, glassware, and service pieces as needed.
- • Sweep, mop, and keep serving, prep, and dining areas sanitary and organized.
- • Set up and break down serving lines and dining areas for meal periods and events.
- • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating inventory using FIFO.
- • Assist with training new staff on line service and sanitation practices.
