Description
Take orders and serve candies, chocolates, and confections at the counter and display cases. Weigh, package, and label items, handle payments, and provide product information. May prepare simple treats and beverages and maintain clean, well-stocked displays.
  • • Greet customers and assist with candy selections and orders.
  • • Communicate with customers regarding orders, product questions, comments, and complaints.
  • • Weigh bulk candy and chocolates and compute prices using scales and POS.
  • • Accept payments, process cards or cash, and make change as needed.
  • • Balance receipts and cash drawers at shift end.
  • • Scoop and bag bulk candy; box chocolates and assemble gift assortments.
  • • Label packages with item names, weights, prices, and allergen or ingredient notes.
  • • Prepare simple treats such as cotton candy, popcorn, caramel apples, or fudge slices using safe, sanitary methods.
  • • Prepare and serve fountain drinks, floats, slushes, or hot chocolate when offered.
  • • Add toppings, drizzles, or sprinkles to treats per order specifications.
  • • Stock and rotate candy in bins and cases using FIFO and date codes.
  • • Monitor inventory of candy, packaging, and supplies; request or place reorders.
  • • Set up, refresh, and merchandise display cases, bins, and seasonal tables.
  • • Clean and sanitize counters, display cases, scoops, tongs, pans, and machines.
  • • Perform sweeping, mopping, and trash removal to keep areas sanitary.
  • • Wash and sanitize utensils, trays, and smallwares; return clean tools to service.
  • • Collect used trays, sampling cups, and tools and return them for washing.
  • • Create order tickets for custom boxes, gift baskets, or large orders; stage for pickup.
  • • Notify confectioners or kitchen staff of shortages, custom requests, or special orders.
  • • Retrieve finished items from the kitchen and present them to customers.
  • • Set up sample stations and provide tasting samples following hygiene guidelines.
  • • Arrange window and countertop displays and decorations according to instructions.
  • • Maintain proper handling practices for temperature-sensitive chocolates and confections.
  • • Serve customers in candy shops, kiosks, cinemas, and amusement venues with quick, friendly service.
  • • Train new attendants in weighing, packaging, POS use, and sanitation procedures.
