Description
Serve customers at a soda and ice cream fountain by taking orders, preparing and serving fountain beverages, shakes, sundaes, and light snacks. Operate fountain and ice cream equipment, handle payment, and keep the counter clean, stocked, and sanitary.
  • • Greet customers and take fountain orders clearly and accurately.
  • • Communicate about menu items, ingredients, and allergen information.
  • • Record orders and compute bills using POS or tickets.
  • • Accept cash and card payments and make change.
  • • Balance cash drawer and reconcile receipts at shift end.
  • • Prepare and serve sodas, floats, freezes, and specialty fountain drinks.
  • • Brew coffee and tea; pour hot and cold beverages to order.
  • • Scoop ice cream and prepare sundaes, cones, and shakes.
  • • Add toppings and garnishes per order specifications.
  • • Operate soda fountain, shake, soft-serve, and custard machines safely.
  • • Calibrate and change syrup boxes and CO2 as directed.
  • • Wrap and package desserts and beverages for takeout.
  • • Select items from storage and place in cups, dishes, or to-go containers.
  • • Replenish syrups, toppings, cones, cups, lids, and straws.
  • • Monitor inventory; restock and request supplies as needed.
  • • Clean and sanitize counters, nozzles, scoops, and utensils.
  • • Wash glasses, dishes, and smallwares; polish as needed.
  • • Sweep, mop, and maintain a sanitary service area.
  • • Set up, maintain, and break down fountain stations and displays.
  • • Maintain temperature and quality standards for dairy and prepared items.
  • • Rotate and label stock using FIFO procedures.
  • • Record waste, spills, and product yields as required.
  • • Notify supervisor of equipment issues, shortages, or special orders.
  • • Deliver orders to guest seating or pickup window when needed.
  • • Assist with simple prep, such as slicing fruit or baking cones.
  • • Follow food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene procedures.
