Description
Assist customers with selecting and purchasing baked goods and beverages. Take and process orders, operate the register, and package, label, and merchandise bakery items. Bake off and finish products, brew beverages, and maintain a clean, sanitary bakery and service area.
- • Sweep, mop, and remove trash to keep the bakery sanitary.
- • Greet customers, answer questions, and take bakery and beverage orders.
- • Enter orders in the POS, accept payments, and make change.
- • Balance cash drawers and reconcile receipts at shift end.
- • Serve baked goods and beverages at the counter or for pickup.
- • Package and label breads, pastries, and desserts for carryout or display.
- • Slice bread and portion pastries as requested.
- • Brew coffee and tea; prepare espresso and other beverages if applicable.
- • Set up, stock, and rotate products in display cases using FIFO.
- • Monitor inventory of ingredients, packaging, and supplies; restock or request orders.
- • Assist with daily bake-off, proofing, finishing, and reheating per recipes and safety standards.
- • Apply glazes, icings, toppings, and decorations per specifications.
- • Assemble simple bakery items, such as breakfast sandwiches or parfaits, when offered.
- • Take and process special orders, including custom cakes, and communicate details to bakers.
- • Label products with ingredients, allergens, and dates per policy.
- • Maintain clean and organized prep, service, and display areas.
- • Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, utensils, sheet pans, and equipment.
- • Clean and polish display cases, counters, and small equipment.
- • Collect used trays and racks and return them to the dish or prep area.
- • Set up merchandising displays, signage, and seasonal decorations as directed.
- • Prepare catering or large orders and stage them for pickup or delivery per schedule.
- • Coordinate pickup times and hand off completed orders to customers.
- • Report product shortages, equipment issues, and customer feedback to supervisors.
- • Support, train, and coach new associates on procedures and safety.
- • Follow food safety, allergen, and sanitation standards at all times.
