Description
Take orders and prepare and serve coffee, tea, and light food in a coffee shop. Assist guests at the counter, drive-thru, or tables, process payments, and keep the cafe clean, stocked, and safe.
- • Communicate with guests about drink and food orders, preferences, and concerns.
- • Process payments by cash, card, or app; make change as needed.
- • Wipe, scrub, and polish counters, espresso bars, and equipment; clean cups and smallwares.
- • Sweep, mop, and wash dishes to keep the cafe sanitary.
- • Balance cash drawers and reconcile receipts at shift end.
- • Take and enter orders in POS; correctly compute bills.
- • Serve coffee, tea, and pastries at the counter, drive-thru, or for takeout and pickup.
- • Prepare daily menu items and simple foods, such as pastries, oatmeal, breakfast sandwiches, or salads, following food safety rules.
- • Clean and organize the cafe, service station, and back-of-house areas.
- • Monitor and restock beans, milk, syrups, cups, lids, and other supplies; place orders as directed.
- • Pull espresso shots and steam milk; brew drip coffee and tea; fill cups to order.
- • Provide fast, friendly service in a quick-service cafe environment.
- • Collect and return used dishes and mugs to the dish area.
- • Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, and utensils.
- • Wrap baked goods and sandwiches for dine-in or to-go.
- • Inform kitchen or prep staff of shortages, allergens, or special requests.
- • Prepare and serve iced drinks, blended beverages, and cold brew using blenders and dispensers.
- • Select pastries or food items from display and package them for customers.
- • Replenish pastry case and self-serve condiment stations.
- • Assist with training new team members on recipes, POS, and cleanliness standards when assigned.
- • Take written or electronic orders and provide order markers or names for identification.
- • Expedite and hand off completed drinks and food to guests promptly.
- • Set up seating areas each shift and bus and reset tables as needed.
- • Add toppings, syrups, and garnishes to drinks and food per recipe.
- • Coordinate with baristas and kitchen staff to queue tickets and deliver items when ready.
- • Maintain attractive table and seasonal displays as instructed.
- • Prepare and package beverages and meals for customers with special dietary needs, following cross-contact protocols.
