Description
Support catering operations by preparing, packing, transporting, setting up, and serving food and beverages for events. Ensure accurate orders, safe food handling, courteous guest service, and clean, organized work areas; restock supplies and assist with basic payments or documentation.
- • Communicate with clients, event captains, and guests about orders, timelines, dietary needs, and concerns.
- • Take and record catering orders or delivery confirmations; verify counts and special instructions.
- • Prepare and portion sandwiches, salads, platters, desserts, and beverages using safe, sanitary practices.
- • Assemble, label, and pack orders with correct utensils, condiments, and signage.
- • Load, transport, and unload food, equipment, and supplies to event sites.
- • Set up buffets, stations, and dining areas with linens, chafers, displays, and tableware.
- • Replenish and rotate food at serving stations; monitor and record holding temperatures.
- • Garnish and label menu items, including allergen and dietary indicators.
- • Serve food and beverages; pass hors d'oeuvres; pour coffee, tea, and cold drinks.
- • Brew coffee and tea; operate beverage dispensers and hot boxes safely.
- • Deliver orders to offices, meeting rooms, and venues; obtain signatures or payments as required.
- • Accept cash or card payments when applicable; issue receipts and reconcile delivery tickets.
- • Monitor inventory of food, beverages, and disposables; restock and request supplies.
- • Notify kitchen of shortages, delays, or special orders.
- • Bus tables and collect dirty dishes, glassware, and equipment during and after events.
- • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, chafers, and service equipment.
- • Clean and organize prep, staging, vehicle, and event areas; remove trash and recycling.
- • Follow HACCP, allergen, and company safety policies; maintain temperature and cleaning logs.
- • Wrap, label, and store leftovers per policy; ensure proper cooling and disposal.
- • Assist with training and direction of temporary or new staff when assigned.
- • Set and reset room layouts per event orders; arrange signage and simple decorations.
- • Participate in post-event breakdown; return items to storage and report damages or feedback.
