Description
Perform manual labor in an outdoor yard to move, stage, and secure materials; load and unload trucks; and keep storage areas clean and safe while following work orders and assisting equipment operators with rigging and spotting.
- • Attach labels or tags to pallets, bundles, or yard stock.
- • Follow work orders or supervisor instructions to pull, stage, or store materials.
- • Record loads moved, locations, and counts on tickets or handheld devices.
- • Move materials around the yard by hand, hand truck, pallet jack, or yard carts.
- • Sort incoming and outgoing loads before loading or put-away.
- • Assemble or repair pallets, skids, or crates using hand tools.
- • Wrap, band, tarp, or re-pack damaged items to protect materials.
- • Carry and return tools, parts, and supplies between storage and work areas.
- • Secure loads with strapping, bracing, dunnage, or padding.
- • Maintain clean aisles, racks, and storage bays to protect inventory.
- • Rig slings, chains, or hooks and signal operators to lift or place loads.
- • Spot trucks and guide forklifts or cranes into position for safe loading.
- • Perform basic equipment checks, fueling, and report defects or hazards.
