Description
Handle, move, and stage materials within warehouses or production facilities; support shipping, receiving, and inventory control using manual methods and powered material handling equipment.
- • Tag and label incoming and outgoing materials, containers, and pallets.
- • Read work orders, pick lists, and instructions to determine material requirements and priorities.
- • Record quantities moved, picked, and shipped in logs or warehouse systems.
- • Move materials between receiving, storage, production, and shipping areas by hand or using pallet jacks, forklifts, or carts.
- • Sort and stage materials by destination, job, or priority for loading and unloading.
- • Assemble and prepare pallets, crates, or skids using hand tools as needed.
- • Pack, palletize, and re-pack materials; replace damaged packaging.
- • Retrieve and return supplies, packing materials, and tools to designated storage.
- • Secure loads with straps, wrap, dunnage, or padding to prevent shifting or damage.
- • Keep storage and staging areas organized, clean, and compliant to protect inventory.
- • Attach slings or hooks and guide loads when using hoists or overhead cranes.
- • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hoists safely.
- • Scan barcodes and verify part numbers and counts to confirm receipts and shipments.
- • Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory control and reconciliation.
