Description
Load, unload, sort, and move packages in a warehouse or hub by hand or with basic material-handling equipment. Scan and label items, secure trailer loads, and prepare shipments while meeting safety, accuracy, and productivity standards.
- • Build and break down pallets, gaylords, and cartons as needed.
- • Affix or replace shipping labels and barcode tags on packages.
- • Follow work orders, scanner prompts, and verbal instructions for sort lanes and load plans.
- • Record package counts, weights, and exceptions using scanners or load sheets.
- • Load and unload packages between conveyors, pallets, cages, and vehicles by hand or with hand trucks or pallet jacks.
- • Sort packages by destination, route, service level, and size.
- • Repack, re-tape, or overpack damaged packages to prevent loss.
- • Stage and return supplies such as totes, pallets, tape, and dunnage.
- • Install dunnage, load bars, and padding to secure trailer loads.
- • Keep work areas, chutes, and equipment staging zones clean and organized.
- • Scan packages to track movement and verify addresses and barcodes.
- • Operate conveyor controls and dock plates safely.
- • Report mis-sorts, hazards, and equipment issues to supervisors and follow PPE and lifting guidelines.
