Sell complex technical and scientific solutions by applying engineering expertise to scope requirements, design and present solutions, prepare proposals, and guide implementation; typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • • Answer technical and commercial questions about solutions, pricing, availability, and terms.
  • • Prepare and deliver quotations, bid responses, and RFQ/RFP submissions.
  • • Align solution features with customer requirements and constraints, explaining capabilities and limits.
  • • Negotiate pricing, scope, and contract terms with procurement and engineering stakeholders.
  • • Maintain CRM records, pipeline, and account activity.
  • • Collaborate with account managers, product, engineering, and marketing on strategy and positioning.
  • • Build technical presentations, proposals, and statements of work detailing specifications and applications.
  • • Provide pre- and post-sale technical support and troubleshooting.
  • • Communicate delivery schedules, service plans, warranties, and compliance documentation.
  • • Conduct site visits and discovery to assess requirements and promote solutions.

  • • Consult with customer and internal engineers to resolve technical issues.
  • • Manage demo equipment, samples, and technical collateral.
  • • Conduct field audits or site assessments to validate performance and adoption.
  • • Advise on safety, regulatory, and environmental considerations, including proper use and disposal.
  • • Present energy efficiency, sustainability, and regulatory impacts of solutions when applicable.
  • • Promote solutions that meet environmental and compliance standards.
  • • Prepare and submit sales orders, contracts, and statements of work.
  • • Prospect and engage customers to map solutions to their needs.
  • • Recommend configurations that meet requirements, regulations, and budgets.
  • • Validate lead times and resource plans against project schedules.
  • • Identify and qualify prospects through research, referrals, and events.
  • • Advise on best practices, integration, and optimization to improve outcomes.
  • • Stay current on new products, standards, and competitive technologies.
  • • Attend industry events and review publications to monitor markets and trends.
  • • Sell maintenance, training, and service agreements.
  • • Deliver live demos, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts.
  • • Support targeted campaigns, account plans, and technical enablement to meet quotas.
  • • Create and verify bills of materials and configuration lists.
  • • Ensure proposals meet technical compliance, scope, and risk requirements.
  • • Develop and manage proof-of-concept success criteria and test plans.
  • • Train customers and partners on product features, APIs, and integrations.
