Sell electronic components, equipment, and systems for wholesalers or manufacturers to business customers, applying technical knowledge of electronics, networking, and industry standards, typically gained through at least 2 years of postsecondary education.
  • • Answer customer questions about electronic products, pricing, availability, and credit terms.
  • • Quote prices, credit terms, RFQs, and bid specifications.
  • • Highlight features using needs analysis and technical knowledge of electronic specs and limitations.
  • • Negotiate prices and terms of sales or service agreements.
  • • Maintain CRM records, pipelines, and activities.

  • • Present power efficiency, thermal performance, and environmental impacts of solutions.
  • • Promote and sell energy-efficient, compliant electronic products and accessories.
  • • Prepare and submit sales orders, contracts, and change requests.
  • • Prospect and contact new or existing customers to match solutions to requirements.
  • • Recommend products based on needs, specifications, standards, and regulations (UL, FCC, CE).
  • • Confirm delivery timelines align with project milestones and production schedules.
  • • Identify prospects via directories, referrals, industry groups, and electronics trade shows.
  • • Advise on optimal configuration and usage to improve system performance and reliability.
  • • Study data sheets, application notes, and release documentation for new products.
  • • Attend industry events and follow publications to track market, technology, and regulatory trends.
  • • Sell maintenance, calibration, and extended service contracts.
  • • Demonstrate operation of electronic equipment, software interfaces, and test gear.
  • • Run targeted campaigns and promotions to achieve quota and revenue goals.
  • • Verify accuracy of bills of materials, part numbers, and configurations.
  • • Verify customer creditworthiness and payment terms.
