Sell agricultural inputs, technology, and equipment for wholesalers or manufacturers, applying agronomy, animal science, and farm operations knowledge, typically gained through at least 2 years of postsecondary education, to match solutions to growers' needs and improve yield and profitability.
  • • Answer farmers' and ag retailers' questions about products, pricing, availability, programs, or credit terms.
  • • Quote prices, volume discounts, financing, or bid specifications for seed, crop protection, nutrition, or equipment.
  • • Recommend products based on crop plans, soil tests, herd needs, or operational goals.
  • • Negotiate prices, delivery, or service agreement terms.

  • • Contact new or existing customers to discuss how specific products or services can meet their needs.
  • • Assist customers in selecting products that meet agronomic needs, label requirements, and local regulations.
  • • Verify delivery timelines align with planting, application, or harvest windows.
  • • Identify prospective customers through farm lists, referrals, grower meetings, and trade shows.
  • • Conduct or support product training for customers and dealer staff.
  • • Study new agricultural products, labels, technologies, and research data.
  • • Attend farm shows, field days, and industry meetings to track market and regulatory changes.
  • • Sell service plans and subscriptions for equipment, software, or agronomic services.
  • • Demonstrate operation of equipment, precision ag tools, or application techniques.
  • • Launch seasonal sales campaigns to achieve territory goals.
  • • Verify order accuracy, product mixes, and treatment specifications.
  • • Check customer credit and manage accounts receivable issues.
  • • Monitor field performance and document results with photos, tissue tests, or yield data.
  • • Ensure compliance with company stewardship policies and applicable EPA, state, and dealer requirements.
