Description
Supervise and coordinate labor crews performing manual material handling, loading/unloading, and site support. Assign work, monitor quality, enforce safety, and meet productivity and schedule targets.
  • • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staffing and respond to workload changes.
  • • Coordinate daily activities and resolve work-related issues with workers and managers.
  • • Monitor work in progress and upon completion to verify quality and compliance.
  • • Communicate, clarify, and distribute work orders and job instructions to crews.
  • • Verify materials loaded or unloaded match specifications and work orders.
  • • Notify relevant departments of loads completed, shortages, or issues encountered.
  • • Determine loading and unloading sequences to optimize safety and efficiency.
  • • Evaluate employee performance and complete appraisals.
  • • Assist crews by performing complex or physically demanding tasks as needed.
  • • Prepare and maintain timesheets, production logs, receipts, and inspection records.
  • • Lead toolbox talks and staff meetings, emphasizing safety and procedures.
  • • Coach and counsel employees on work practices, growth, and career development.
  • • Inspect tools, vehicles, and equipment for condition and compliance with specifications.
  • • Address personnel concerns and grievances or elevate them when necessary.
  • • Recommend promotions, transfers, training, or disciplinary actions.
  • • Identify training needs and arrange or deliver instruction.
  • • Coordinate material movements and shipment schedules with logistics and carriers.
  • • Provide labor and service price quotes or estimates to customers when required.
  • • Estimate labor, materials, and time requirements based on job specifications and experience.
  • • Assist with budget tracking, cost control, and development of unit procedures.
  • • Inspect job sites to assess maintenance, cleanup, or repair needs.
  • • Participate in recruiting and hiring through screening, interviews, and recommendations.
  • • Manage inventory of supplies and request or purchase replenishments.
  • • Enforce safety policies and ensure proper use of PPE and equipment.
