Description
Directly supervise and coordinate inventory control, receiving, putaway, picking, cycle counting, and stock reconciliation to ensure accurate records, timely order fulfillment, and compliance with safety and company policies.
- • Plan shifts and assign receiving, putaway, cycle count, picking, and replenishment tasks to meet demand.
- • Collaborate with staff and managers to resolve inventory, WMS, and workflow issues.
- • Audit receiving, putaway, picks, and counts during and after work to ensure accuracy and SOP compliance.
- • Distribute and explain pick lists, count sheets, and work orders.
- • Verify inbound and outbound shipments against purchase/sales orders, BOLs, and packing lists.
- • Notify Purchasing, Sales, or Operations of shortages, damages, delays, or discrepancies.
- • Set slotting, putaway, and picking sequences based on item attributes, turnover, and space.
- • Evaluate employee performance and complete appraisals.
- • Perform receiving, counting, or picking as needed, and handle complex reconciliations.
- • Maintain inventory records, cycle count results, adjustments, KPIs, and labor logs in WMS/ERP.
- • Lead team huddles on safety, process updates, and accuracy goals.
- • Coach and counsel employees on performance, growth, and career development.
- • Inspect forklifts, scanners, racks, and bins; report or schedule maintenance.
- • Address personnel issues and escalate formal grievances when needed.
- • Recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, or disciplinary actions.
- • Train staff on WMS, RF scanning, barcoding, FIFO/FEFO, and inventory SOPs.
- • Coordinate shipping and receiving schedules with carriers and internal teams.
- • Provide stock availability, substitutions, and lead-time updates to Sales or Customer Service.
- • Estimate labor, time, and space for counts, slotting changes, kitting, and seasonal peaks.
- • Assist with inventory valuation, reconciliations, shrink analysis, and SOP development.
- • Inspect storage areas for housekeeping, damage, and compliance with labeling and segregation rules.
- • Participate in hiring by screening candidates, interviewing, and recommending selections.
- • Monitor stock levels and min/max settings; trigger replenishment or purchase requests.
- • Enforce warehouse safety procedures, PPE use, load limits, and safe storage standards.
