Independently sell non-technical products for multiple wholesalers and manufacturers to business customers and groups. Operate as a commissioned contractor to develop a territory, build accounts, and apply deep product knowledge to drive orders and long-term relationships.
- • Answer buyers’ questions about products, pricing, availability, applications, and credit terms across represented lines.
- • Recommend solutions and product assortments based on customer needs, budgets, and objectives.
- • Prospect and call on regular and new accounts to demo products, present features and benefits, and solicit orders.
- • Prepare and deliver quotes, terms, warranties, and delivery dates in accordance with principal policies.
- • Follow up after sales or contract signings to resolve issues and provide ongoing account support.
- • Create tailored proposals, estimates, and bids to meet customer specifications.
- • Provide and manage product samples, catalogs, and digital collateral.
- • Identify and qualify prospective customers through research, referrals, networking, and industry events and trade shows.
- • Coordinate order entry, shipping, delivery, and installation with manufacturers, distributors, and service partners.
- • Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitor offerings, pricing, and promotions.
- • Maintain CRM and sales records; prepare activity reports, forecasts, and territory plans; track expenses and commissions.
- • Assist with customer credit applications and account setup; relay credit information to principals.
- • Submit, confirm, and track purchase orders with manufacturers; communicate order status to customers.
- • Check supplier inventory and recommend replenishment or substitutions to accounts.
- • Advise retailers on merchandising, planograms, and promotional programs; assist with in-store displays when needed.
- • Negotiate placement, promotions, and co-op advertising to improve product exposure and sell-through.
- • Prepare sales agreements, order forms, and required documentation for customers and principals.
- • Negotiate pricing, terms, and payment arrangements within authorized guidelines and rep agreements.
