Description
Coach and support individuals with disabilities or other employment barriers to obtain, learn, and keep competitive jobs. Assess strengths and needs, develop individualized employment plans, provide job-readiness training and on-the-job support, coordinate accommodations and services, and partner with employers, families, and community agencies to promote long-term employment and independence.
- • Meet with clients to set employment goals and create individualized coaching plans.
- • Assess job skills, interests, and support needs through interviews and standardized tools.
- • Conduct job development and employer outreach; arrange interviews and work tryouts.
- • Provide job-readiness training, including resumes, applications, interviewing, and workplace soft skills.
- • Deliver on-the-job coaching, task modeling, and gradual fading to build independence.
- • Monitor and document clients’ progress and adjust plans to meet goals.
- • Maintain accurate case notes, service plans, eligibility records, and employer communications.
- • Provide employers and coworkers with coaching on inclusive practices and natural supports.
- • Support retention and career advancement through ongoing problem-solving and skills coaching.
- • Track authorized service hours; complete required reports, timesheets, and billing.
- • Coordinate vocational assessments and referrals to needed services and training programs.
- • Identify barriers to employment (transportation, scheduling, accessibility) and implement solutions.
- • Arrange workplace accommodations and assistive technology in collaboration with employers.
- • Conduct job task analyses and break duties into trainable steps.
- • Collaborate with VR counselors, clinicians, educators, and community partners to align supports.
- • Engage families and caregivers to reinforce employment goals and workplace behaviors.
- • Stay current on local labor market trends and hiring needs to guide placements.
