Description
Manage and control inventory to ensure materials are available to meet production and shipment schedules. Duties include reviewing demand, production, and replenishment plans; coordinating with purchasing, warehouse, and production to balance stock levels and material flow; investigating discrepancies and shortages; and compiling reports on inventory accuracy, costs, turns, and supply risks.
  • • Audit inventory records against physical stock to verify accuracy, condition, and compliance with specifications.
  • • Review demand forecasts, production schedules, and open orders to set inventory requirements and priorities.
  • • Confer with warehouse, purchasing, and production to assess material availability and adjust plans.
  • • Revise replenishment plans, safety stocks, and reorder points when designs, lead times, or demand change.
  • • Coordinate with suppliers, logistics, and internal teams to expedite deliveries and resolve discrepancies.
  • • Record and reconcile inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, returns, and adjustments.
  • • Create purchase requisitions and maintain stock levels to meet service and turn targets.
  • • Calculate reorder points, order quantities, lead times, and inventory carrying costs.
  • • Release pick lists, kitting orders, and replenishment transfers to warehouse or production.
  • • Compile inventory KPIs and status reports on usage, on-hand balances, turns, and service levels.
  • • Arrange interdepartmental or intersite transfers to position stock and meet schedules.
  • • Confirm shipment details with suppliers, including quantities, ship dates, and tracking.
  • • Maintain item master data, locations, and BOM references in the ERP.
  • • Plan inventory commitments using sales forecasts, MRP outputs, and min/max settings.
  • • Define storage locations, labeling, and handling requirements to control stock integrity.
  • • Lead cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate and reconcile variances.
  • • Prepare documentation for inventory adjustments, nonconforming material, and dispositions.
  • • Report root causes for shortages, excess, obsolescence, and write-offs; recommend corrective actions.
