E-Commerce Product Manager

Description
Lead the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of e-commerce products and features that drive online sales and customer experience. Partner with engineering, design, marketing, and operations to define requirements, optimize funnels, integrate payments and fulfillment, ensure security and compliance, and achieve business goals.
  • • Partner with UX/UI to design storefront, search, and checkout experiences.
  • • Oversee taxonomy, navigation, and product listing placement to maximize discovery and conversion.
  • • Define content models and workflows for product media and descriptions within the CMS.
  • • Partner with SEO/SEM teams to implement features and content that improve discoverability.
  • • Specify pricing, promotions, and catalog rules capabilities in collaboration with merchandising.
  • • Define transactional communication requirements for order, shipping, and account notifications.
  • • Own requirements and integrations for order management, invoicing, and fulfillment systems.
  • • Define customer account, authentication, and loyalty features and data models.
  • • Stay current on e-commerce trends, technologies, regulations, and security risks via industry events or forums.
  • • Define product vision, goals, and roadmap for the e-commerce platform aligned to business strategy.
  • • Conduct market and competitive research to identify opportunities and validate product-market fit.
  • • Gather and prioritize requirements from customers, analytics, and stakeholders.
  • • Write user stories, acceptance criteria, and maintain a prioritized product backlog.
  • • Coordinate with payments providers to support secure payments, taxes, and fraud prevention.
  • • Partner with security and legal to ensure compliance with PCI, privacy, and data protection policies.
  • • Evaluate, select, and manage third-party vendors and services such as hosting, search, recommendations, and payment gateways.
  • • Collaborate with operations to support omnichannel capabilities such as buy online, pick up in store (BOPIS), inventory visibility, and returns.
  • • Define customer service tooling and workflows for cancellations, returns, and order modifications.
  • • Use analytics and experimentation to measure funnel performance and optimize conversion and retention.
  • • Plan and run A/B tests and feature flag rollouts; monitor results and iterate.
  • • Create release plans and coordinate with engineering for sprint planning and delivery.
  • • Review designs and prototypes; conduct usability testing and customer interviews.
  • • Ensure accessibility, performance, and mobile responsiveness across experiences.
  • • Develop requirements for digital goods delivery where applicable.
  • • Define search, recommendation, and personalization features to improve merchandising.
  • • Specify tax, shipping rate, and address validation integrations and rules.
  • • Monitor KPIs, revenue, margin, and costs; report performance and insights to stakeholders.
  • • Prepare go-to-market plans with marketing, including content guidelines and landing pages.
  • • Manage product documentation, training, and change management for internal teams.
  • • Identify and mitigate product risks; manage incident response and post-mortems with engineering.
  • • Prioritize backlog based on impact, effort, and dependencies; communicate tradeoffs and decisions.
  • • Ensure localization, internationalization, and multi-currency support as needed.
  • • Coordinate data pipelines and dashboards for product analytics and customer segmentation.
  • • Champion a customer-centric culture and advocate for continuous improvement.
