Description
Design, build, and maintain e-commerce websites, platforms, and integrations. Duties include developing storefront UI/UX, configuring product catalogs, integrating payments, shipping, and tax services, ensuring security and compliance, optimizing performance and SEO, automating order and inventory workflows, and monitoring analytics to improve conversion.
  • • Develop pricing engines and admin tools for pricing rules, promotions, and coupons.
  • • Implement content and policy pages, ensuring accessibility and legal compliance.
  • • Configure transactional email and SMS for order, payment, and shipping events.
  • • Develop order and invoicing workflows with OMS/ERP integrations and automation.
  • • Design and maintain customer account models, authentication, and authorization.
  • • Build landing pages and promotional modules with CMS or headless frameworks.
  • • Implement product feeds, structured data, and tags for shopping ads and SEO.
  • • Provide admin features and APIs to modify or cancel orders with refund logic.
  • • Build secure digital download fulfillment with access controls as needed.
  • • Evaluate, provision, and configure hosting, payment gateways, and commerce SaaS.
  • • Stay current on e-commerce tech, frameworks, and security threats via forums or conferences.
  • • Build media management workflows to upload and optimize product images and videos.
  • • Integrate inventory and product data via PIM/ERP APIs to maintain accurate stock.
  • • Integrate shipping carriers and label services with rate shopping and tracking.
  • • Implement omnichannel integrations with POS, ERP, or catalog systems.
  • • Integrate social sharing, referral, and affiliate tracking features.
  • • Automate order routing to 3PLs, drop shippers, or manufacturers via API/EDI.
  • • Implement analytics, event tracking, and A/B testing to optimize UX and SEO.
  • • Research and vet third-party apps, libraries, and services to extend capabilities.
  • • Conduct technical discovery and prototyping to validate new features and scale.
  • • Implement auction or bidding modules or integrate marketplace auction APIs.
  • • Apply security best practices, encryption, OWASP guidance, PCI DSS, and fraud checks.
  • • Manage domains, DNS, SSL/TLS certificates, CDN, and edge caching.
  • • Contribute technical input to the e-commerce roadmap, budgets, and capacity plans.
  • • Optimize site architecture, navigation, and merchandising logic for product discovery.
  • • Develop responsive storefront UI using modern frameworks and accessibility standards.
  • • Build customer service tools and integrations for chat, ticketing, and self-service.
  • • Create pipelines for image processing, compression, alt text, and CDN delivery.
  • • Implement pricing, tax, discounts, and shipping rate calculations and display.
  • • Integrate and maintain payment gateways with tokenization and PCI-compliant flows.
  • • Build SEO-friendly product pages and CMS features with schema and meta tags.
  • • Integrate marketplace connectors for dropship or consignment partners.
  • • Create admin tools and validations for product content, attributes, and variants.
  • • Build reporting dashboards and data pipelines for sales, inventory, and operations.
