Description
Lead and scale the strategy and day-to-day operations of an online retail channel, owning P&L and growth. Oversee merchandising, pricing, inventory, digital marketing, site experience, marketplaces, order and fulfillment operations, customer service policies, vendor and platform governance, compliance, and performance analytics.
- • Stay current on e-commerce trends, technologies, and security threats via industry events and communities.
- • Oversee product content creation and publishing across the online store and marketplaces.
- • Set assortment strategy and approve merchandise buys to meet inventory and margin targets.
- • Ensure fulfillment sites and 3PLs maintain adequate shipping supplies and packing standards.

- • Establish order exception rules and resolve escalated cancellations or fulfillment issues.
- • Manage digital product distribution and licensing where applicable.
- • Select, negotiate, and manage vendors for platforms, hosting, payments, fraud, and tax.
- • Guide social, email, and affiliate programs to drive qualified traffic and conversion.
- • Oversee fulfillment operations, SLAs, and returns; manage in-house or 3PL partners.
- • Lead analytics, dashboards, and A/B testing to improve conversion, retention, and SEO.
- • Develop sourcing strategy and evaluate suppliers, marketplaces, and new product opportunities.
- • Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and risks.
- • Manage marketplace operations (e.g., Amazon, eBay), including listings, compliance, and performance.
- • Partner with IT to enforce security, privacy, PCI compliance, and fraud prevention.
- • Manage domain portfolio, URL strategy, and site taxonomy.
- • Build and execute e-commerce business plans and P&Ls; forecast demand and inventory.
- • Optimize product placement, search, and navigation to maximize discovery and conversion.
- • Partner with UX/UI and engineering to enhance the storefront experience and accessibility.
- • Oversee customer service tools, SLAs, and escalations across chat, email, and phone.
- • Set standards for product photography, video, and rich content; manage studios or agencies.
- • Configure pricing, tax, shipping, and payment rules in commerce systems; ensure accuracy.
- • Manage payment processing, chargebacks, and reconciliation with Finance.
- • Ensure SEO-optimized product data, titles, and descriptions; maintain governance and taxonomy.
- • Negotiate vendor terms, MOQs, and lead times to support availability and cash flow.
- • Oversee copywriting guidelines and content QA for product and category pages.
- • Own sales reporting, KPIs, and budgets; present performance insights and actions.
