Description
Provide hybrid secretarial and paralegal support to attorneys using legal terminology, procedures, and court rules. Draft, proof, and file legal documents and correspondence; manage case calendars and files; coordinate discovery and hearings; conduct basic research and cite checking; and liaise with clients, courts, and counsel.
- • Draft, format, and proofread pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and correspondence.
- • E-file and serve court documents in state and federal systems.
- • Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files and exhibits.
- • Collect and summarize medical, employment, and other records; prepare subpoenas and authorizations.
- • Assist with discovery: prepare requests and responses, Bates-stamp, index, and manage productions.
- • Conduct basic legal research and cite-check authorities using online databases.
- • Prepare hearing, deposition, and trial binders; arrange exhibits and witness lists.
- • Attend client meetings, hearings, or depositions to take notes and handle logistics.
- • Schedule meetings, depositions, court appearances, and travel; coordinate conference rooms and remote links.
- • Screen and route calls; communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff.
- • Complete court and agency forms; draft office memos and client intake documents.
- • Track attorney time; prepare client bills and process expenses.
- • Handle mail, scanning, photocopying, and document conversions.
- • Manage case calendars, deadlines, and docket updates.
