Description
Provide comprehensive administrative and practice support to attorneys using legal terminology, procedures, and document standards; prepare and file legal documents and correspondence, manage calendars and case files, coordinate client and court communications, and assist with basic legal research and billing.
- • Manage attorney calendars, docket deadlines, and coordinate hearings and depositions.
- • Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence.
- • E-file pleadings and other documents in state and federal courts and agencies.
- • Organize, update, and archive electronic and paper matter files; scan and print as needed.
- • Handle client intake, engagement letters, and conflict-check information.
- • Arrange service of process, courier deliveries, and certified mailings.
- • Answer and route calls; triage emails and messages for attorneys.
- • Schedule client meetings, witness interviews, and conference calls.
- • Collect medical, employment, and other records; track requests and returns.
- • Attend meetings or proceedings as needed and take minutes or action notes.
- • Perform cite-checks, pull authorities, and conduct basic database research.
- • Draft routine memos, transmittal letters, and forms.
- • Prepare billing drafts, enter time, and process expenses and vendor invoices.
- • Coordinate attorney travel, reservations, and itinerary packets.
