Description
Engineer responsible for the operation, performance, and reliability of station compressors and pumping systems driven by steam, gas, electric motors, or internal combustion engines. Manage transmission, compression, and recovery of gases such as butane, nitrogen, hydrogen, and natural gas while ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- • Monitor SCADA, meters, and gauges to track flow, temperature, and pressure trends.
- • Set control parameters and adjust valves and equipment to meet performance targets.
- • Validate gas meter readings and maintain custody transfer and station throughput records.
- • Oversee and optimize operation of compressors and pumps moving gases and associated fluids.
- • Maintain operating logs and document operational changes; review instrument data for anomalies.
- • Commission, start, stop, and sequence compressors, drivers, and auxiliary systems.
- • Tune regulators and control loops to maintain setpoint pressures.
- • Troubleshoot process upsets and direct technicians to correct issues locally or from the control room.
- • Oversee gas sampling and quality analysis; interpret results and address off-spec conditions.
- • Plan and verify maintenance activities such as lubrication, filter changes, and minor adjustments.
- • Prepare daily operational and compliance reports.
- • Approve and supervise line-ups, isolations, and transfer or pigging operations.
- • Ensure station housekeeping, safety practices, and environmental compliance are maintained.
