Description
Design, operate, and optimize steam-, gas-, electric motor-, and internal combustion engine-driven compressor systems to transmit, compress, and recover gases such as butane, nitrogen, hydrogen, and natural gas, ensuring reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- • Monitor and analyze pressures, temperatures, flows, and consumption rates via SCADA/DCS and field instruments.
- • Define and adjust operating parameters and valve lineups to meet performance targets.
- • Validate metering data and maintain custody transfer and inventory records for gas received and delivered.
- • Specify and oversee operation of associated pumps, blowers, and auxiliary equipment for gas and liquid transfer.
- • Maintain engineering logs, trend analyses, and change records.
- • Plan and execute or oversee start-up and shutdown of compressors and auxiliary systems.
- • Configure control loops and setpoints to regulate suction and discharge pressures and flows.
- • Troubleshoot system upsets and direct operators and technicians in control room and field adjustments.
- • Manage gas sampling and quality testing for moisture, sulfur, and other contaminants.
- • Develop and oversee preventive maintenance, lubrication schedules, and filter or gasket replacements; perform minor adjustments as needed.
- • Prepare daily operations, performance, and KPI reports with recommendations for optimization.
- • Review and authorize piping lineups, isolation plans, and temporary connections for filling or emptying.
- • Enforce housekeeping, safety, and environmental standards and compliance at compressor stations.
