Description
Operate and monitor plant process equipment—compressors, pumps, and auxiliary systems—driven by steam, gas, electric motors, or internal combustion engines. Control operations to transmit, compress, or recover gases such as butane, nitrogen, hydrogen, and natural gas while maintaining safety, quality, and throughput.
  • • Monitor meters, gauges, and trend displays to track consumption rates, temperatures, pressures, and levels.
  • • Adjust valves and process equipment to maintain setpoints and optimize performance.
  • • Read meters and maintain records of gases and liquids received, produced, and transferred.
  • • Operate power-driven pumps and compressors to move liquids, gases, or powdered materials.
  • • Record instrument readings, alarms, and operational changes in shift logs.
  • • Start up, shut down, and line up compressors, pumps, and auxiliary systems.
  • • Regulate pressures, flows, and temperatures using control switches or DCS setpoints.
  • • Respond to upsets by adjusting control room equipment or directing field personnel.
  • • Collect samples and perform basic tests for quality and moisture or send to the lab.
  • • Clean, lubricate, and adjust equipment; replace filters and gaskets with hand tools.
  • • Prepare and submit daily reports on plant operations and key metrics.
  • • Connect and verify pipelines and hose lineups between pumps, tanks, and process units.
  • • Maintain housekeeping to keep work areas safe, clean, and orderly.
