Description
Engineer, operate, and optimize booster compressor systems driven by steam, gas, electric motors, or internal combustion engines to raise line pressure and ensure reliable transmission, compression, and recovery of gases such as natural gas, hydrogen, nitrogen, and butane.
  • • Monitor SCADA, meters, and pressure/temperature gauges to track demand and equipment performance.
  • • Configure and adjust valves, setpoints, and control logic to achieve specified outlet pressures and flow.
  • • Read and validate gas meter data; maintain accurate records of gas received, boosted, and delivered.
  • • Operate and oversee power-driven pumps, boosters, and associated rotating equipment handling gases and process fluids.
  • • Record instrument readings, alarms, and operational changes in digital and written logs.
  • • Start, stop, and sequence compressors, pumps, and auxiliary systems via control panels or local controls.
  • • Regulate suction and discharge pressures using controllers, regulators, and variable-speed drives.
  • • Diagnose upsets; adjust control-room equipment or direct field personnel to correct issues at site.
  • • Collect gas samples and perform or coordinate analyses for quality, moisture, and sulfur content.
  • • Plan and perform or oversee preventive maintenance; clean, lubricate, align, and replace filters, seals, and gaskets.
  • • Prepare daily operational and performance reports, noting deviations and corrective actions.
  • • Connect and verify piping, hoses, and manifolds between boosters, pumps, and storage or pipeline headers.
  • • Maintain station housekeeping and safety standards, including painting, washing, and area cleanliness.
