Description
Operate and control pipeline systems transporting natural gas and liquids. Monitor SCADA and field equipment to manage pressures, flows, and product movements and ensure pipeline integrity. Start/stop pumps and compressors, line up valves, and coordinate field crews to deliver products safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations.
  • • Monitor SCADA, meters, and pressure/flow gauges to track throughput, temperatures, and pressures.
  • • Adjust setpoints, regulators, and valves to maintain specified pressures, flows, and line pack.
  • • Start and stop pumps, compressors, and auxiliary systems; configure stations and segments for scheduled movements.
  • • Read custody-transfer meters and tank levels; record receipts, deliveries, and imbalances.
  • • Log instrument readings, alarms, and operational changes per procedures.
  • • Regulate pressures and flows using controllers, switches, and remote commands.
  • • Respond to alarms and abnormal conditions; troubleshoot remotely or dispatch and guide field crews.
  • • Collect product samples or coordinate lab analysis to verify quality and moisture/sulfur or odorant levels.
  • • Inspect equipment, perform minor adjustments, and coordinate lubrication, filter changes, and repairs with technicians.
  • • Prepare and submit daily shift, operational, and regulatory reports.
  • • Line up pipelines, manifolds, and tanks for transfers and pigging; verify valve lineups and isolations.
  • • Maintain station and control room housekeeping and safety compliance.
  • • Implement or authorize lockout/tagout and emergency shutdowns during maintenance or incidents.
