Description
Install, operate, maintain, and repair steam-, gas-, electric motor-, or internal combustion engine-driven compressors and auxiliary systems. Troubleshoot issues and ensure safe compression, transfer, and recovery of gases such as butane, nitrogen, hydrogen, and natural gas.
  • • Monitor gauges, meters, and sensors to track flow, temperatures, pressures, and load.
  • • Adjust valves, regulators, and controls to achieve specified performance.
  • • Read meters and log gas volumes compressed, transferred, or recovered.
  • • Operate and service pumps and auxiliary systems supporting compressors.
  • • Record readings, findings, and actions in operating logs or maintenance systems.
  • • Start up, shut down, and isolate compressors and auxiliaries per procedures.
  • • Set and verify pressure setpoints, alarms, and safety limits.
  • • Troubleshoot alarms, leaks, and performance issues; correct or coordinate with operations.
  • • Collect gas samples and perform basic quality tests or arrange laboratory analysis.
  • • Perform preventive maintenance: clean, lubricate, align, and replace filters, seals, and gaskets.
  • • Inspect for leaks, vibration, and abnormal noise; repair or escalate as needed.
  • • Connect and secure hoses or piping for transfer, testing, and flushing operations.
  • • Maintain work areas and equipment through routine housekeeping and safety checks.
  • • Submit daily service, parts usage, and performance reports.
