Description
Coordinate and expedite the movement of passengers, baggage, and freight across airline, rail, bus, and trucking operations. Take reservations and service requests, arrange pickups and transfers, dispatch vehicles, and direct terminal activities. Prepare and verify travel and shipping documents, calculate fares and charges, and ensure compliance with tariffs and regulations.
  • • Negotiate and arrange transport with carriers and service providers.
  • • Advise customers on routes, schedules, fares, and payment options.
  • • Determine transport methods and prepare tickets, bills of lading, invoices, and other travel or shipping documents.
  • • Estimate fares, freight rates, and ancillary fees; record costs, weights, and dimensions.
  • • Enter reservation, shipment, and tracking data into transportation systems or via barcode scanners.
  • • Locate delayed baggage or shipments and resolve tracing requests.
  • • Package or secure items for transport using appropriate tools and materials.
  • • Dispatch and direct vehicles to gates, docks, or pickup zones and assist with safe loading and unloading.
  • • Inspect incoming items or baggage and verify against manifests or tickets, noting shortages or damage.
  • • Install restraints, braces, and padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • • Maintain records of reservations, tickets, cargo, and equipment movements.
  • • Coordinate and oversee staff engaged in check-in, packing, loading, and dispatch.
  • • Arrange insurance coverage or liability waivers for travel or shipments.
  • • Supervise loading to ensure completeness, weight balance, and safety compliance.
  • • Open containers or baggage for inspection using approved tools and procedures.
  • • Affix tags, barcodes, and routing instructions to baggage and containers.
  • • Route passengers, baggage, and freight to gates, flights, trains, buses, or storage using tugs, forklifts, or hand trucks.
  • • Maintain inventories of packing, tagging, and check-in supplies.
  • • Assemble crates, pallets, or specialty carriers for oversized items or equipment.
  • • Track trip and delivery progress and provide status updates to stakeholders.
  • • Notify consignees and passengers of arrivals, delays, or schedule changes and arrange last-mile delivery or transfers.
  • • Review travel and customs documentation and classify goods using tariff codes as required.
  • • Prepare and transmit manifests for passengers, baggage, mail, and freight.
  • • Coordinate with vendors, maintenance, or claims departments to resolve service issues or arrange repairs.
