Description
Perform a variety of attending duties at an ice rink. Schedule ice time, rent and maintain skates and safety gear, monitor sessions for safety, assist patrons on and off the ice, and operate admissions, concessions, and basic rink equipment.
  • • Provide information about session times, lessons, parties, and rink rules.
  • • Record attendance, admissions, skate rentals, reservations, and maintenance logs.
  • • Monitor skaters to enforce rules and safety procedures, and remove unruly patrons when necessary.
  • • Sell admissions, rentals, and passes, and collect and reconcile fees.
  • • Stay informed on shut-down and emergency evacuation procedures, including cold-exposure response.
  • • Clean and tidy the rink surface perimeter, benches, rental counter, locker rooms, and lobby.
  • • Announce session changes, safety reminders, and upcoming events over the PA system.
  • • Assist patrons with fitting and fastening skates, helmets, and skate aids.
  • • Inspect skates and gear for wear or damage and perform minor repairs or adjustments.
  • • Operate or assist with rink equipment such as the ice resurfacer, gates, music, and lighting.
  • • Rent, sell, or issue skates, helmets, skate aids, and lockers.
  • • Verify wristbands or tickets before allowing access to the ice.
  • • Direct patrons to skate rental, exits, party rooms, or seating areas.
  • • Assist patrons entering and exiting the ice surface and using skate aids.
  • • Sell and serve refreshments at the snack bar as needed.
  • • Schedule ice for public sessions, hockey, figure skating, and parties, and set up as required.
  • • Maintain inventories of skates and supplies, sanitize items, and set up or break down cones and nets.
