Control entry at venue gates by verifying tickets and credentials, applying wristbands or hand stamps, screening for prohibited items, directing guests, assisting with accessibility needs, maintaining queue flow and safety, and guiding patrons during emergencies and lost-and-found situations.
  • • Greet guests at entry gates.
  • • Scan or examine tickets, passes, or wristbands for authenticity and valid date/time.
  • • Operate handheld scanners and access-control devices.
  • • Apply wristbands or hand stamps for entry or re-entry.
  • • Conduct visual bag checks per venue policy and identify prohibited items.
  • • Refuse entry to unauthorized persons or items and enforce age restrictions.
  • • Manage queues and control crowd flow at gates.
  • • Provide instructions or assistance during emergencies and evacuations.
  • • Maintain order and ensure adherence to safety rules.
  • • Assist guests with special needs or ADA access at gates.
  • • Give directions to seating sections, restrooms, concessions, and exits.
  • • Issue and check re-entry stamps or door checks.
  • • Verify VIP, media, or staff credentials and control restricted access.
  • • Count and reconcile admissions; record ticket counts or turnstile numbers.
  • • Resolve ticket problems or customer concerns by coordinating with the box office or supervisors.
  • • Distribute programs, event maps, or wristbands.
  • • Operate walk-through or handheld metal detectors as directed.
  • • Search for lost articles or escort lost children to guest services.
  • • Set up and maintain gate signage, stanchions, and information displays.
  • • Page individuals or contact the box office via radio as needed.
  • • Sell or collect tickets, passes, or memberships at entry points.
  • • Keep the gate area clean and free of hazards.
  • • Monitor weather or crowd conditions and report incidents.
  • • Support setup and breakdown of gate equipment.
