Description
Welcome and control entry at venue doors by checking tickets and IDs, managing queues, assisting guests with directions and accessibility, monitoring capacity and safety, and coordinating re-entry and incident response.
  • • Greet guests and open doors to welcome arrivals.
  • • Provide directions to seating sections, restrooms, concessions, and exits.
  • • Manage entry lines and flow at entrances and exits.
  • • Examine and scan tickets or passes to verify validity and date.
  • • Check IDs for age-restricted events and apply wristbands or stamps.
  • • Sell or collect admission tickets and verify memberships when applicable.
  • • Refuse entry to persons without valid credentials or who violate policies.
  • • Provide re-entry checks, such as hand stamps or wristbands.
  • • Direct guests to will-call, box office, or appropriate entrance lanes.
  • • Distribute programs or event information at the door.
  • • Assist guests with special needs at entrances, including wheelchair access.
  • • Coordinate with security for bag checks, prohibited items, or disturbances.
  • • Maintain order and enforce venue rules and safety procedures.
  • • Guide patrons during emergencies and direct safe evacuation routes.
  • • Monitor capacity counts with a clicker and report to management.
  • • Help resolve ticket or seating disputes by liaising with ushers or box office.
  • • Log and report lost items and assist with reunification of lost persons.
  • • Verify VIP or credentialed access and manage guest lists.
  • • Place, update, or remove entrance signage and queue stanchions.
  • • Keep entryways clear, tidy, and free of hazards.
  • • Communicate via radio with ushers, box office, and operations.
  • • Page individuals to the door or relay messages from the box office.
  • • Document incidents and pass down shift notes.
  • • Assist with opening and closing procedures for doors and locking systems.
