Description
Control and monitor facility entry points, verifying credentials, inspecting vehicles and packages, and enforcing access rules to prevent unauthorized entry, theft, or disturbances; may operate barriers, CCTV, x-ray, and metal detectors.
- • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, contractors, and vehicles at gates.
- • Verify identification, credentials, work orders, and deliveries before granting access.
- • Operate gate controls, barriers, badge readers, and visitor management systems.
- • Inspect vehicles and packages to prevent passage of prohibited items.
- • Patrol the gate area and adjacent perimeter to detect intrusion or tampering and ensure gates and fences are secure.
- • Answer alarms and investigate disturbances at entry points.
- • Maintain logs and write reports of arrivals, departures, irregularities, and incidents.
- • Direct traffic, provide directions, and communicate entry procedures to drivers and visitors.
- • Warn and deny entry to persons violating rules; detain or coordinate with law enforcement as required.
- • Call police, fire, or medical responders in emergencies; provide basic first aid until help arrives.
- • Monitor surveillance cameras, intercoms, and detection devices related to gate operations.
- • Inspect and test gate equipment, detection devices, and lighting; report or correct malfunctions.
- • Lock and secure gates during opening and closing or after hours per schedule.
- • Answer telephones or intercoms to screen callers, take messages, and relay information after hours.
