Evaluate, originate, and coordinate mortgage and consumer loans, guiding applicants from prequalification through closing. Duties include analyzing credit and collateral, explaining loan options, collecting documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and arranging financing.
- • Originate and process mortgage and consumer loan applications.
- • Collect and verify borrower documentation, including income, assets, employment, and identity.
- • Analyze credit reports, debt-to-income ratios, and collateral to assess eligibility and risk.
- • Explain loan products, rates, terms, and costs to applicants and answer questions.
- • Obtain signed applications, disclosures, and required authorizations in accordance with regulations.
- • Prepare loan estimates, amortization schedules, and closing disclosures using loan origination software.
- • Monitor loan conditions, verifications, appraisal, and title milestones to meet closing timelines.
- • Act as liaison among borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, appraisers, title companies, and closing agents.
- • Order and review appraisals, title work, flood certifications, insurance, and verification reports.
- • Ensure loans comply with federal, state, investor, and fair lending requirements.
- • Coordinate title searches, escrow, and closing arrangements.
- • Arrange financing for purchases and refinances, including locking rates and coordinating funding.
- • Maintain current knowledge of mortgage programs, government-backed loans, and market rates.
- • Manage a loan pipeline, maintain accurate records, and update stakeholders on loan status.
- • Review work completed by processors and third-party providers for completeness and accuracy.
- • Provide prequalification and preapproval letters to borrowers and real estate partners.
- • Train or mentor junior lending staff and support team members.
