Description
Instruct individuals and groups in yoga for personal fitness and well-being. Demonstrate asanas and alignment, observe students, and provide safe cues and modifications to improve practice. Develop and implement tailored sequences integrating breathwork and mindfulness.
- • Explain and enforce safety guidelines for yoga practice and proper use of mats and props.
- • Offer pose modifications, progressions, and alternatives to accommodate different levels and conditions.
- • Plan class sequences and themes; select appropriate music or silence to support practice goals.
- • Observe students and provide alignment cues and corrective feedback.
- • Teach breathing techniques (pranayama) and mindful breathing during poses and transitions.
- • Instruct students on pacing, intensity, and rest to maximize benefits and prevent injury.
- • Demonstrate correct form for asanas and safe use of blocks, straps, bolsters, and other props.
- • Clean, maintain, and organize studio space and equipment.
- • Lead a variety of class styles (e.g., Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative, Yin) as qualified.
- • Monitor student progress and adapt sequences or individual plans as needed.
- • Assess students’ goals, abilities, and contraindications; design suitable practices.
- • Incorporate mindfulness and meditation to support physical and mental well-being.
- • Provide basic education on wellness topics such as posture, hydration, recovery, and nutrition within scope.
- • Administer basic first aid and refer injured students to healthcare professionals when appropriate.
- • Advise students on appropriate clothing and accessories for safe practice.
- • Promote classes or studio programs and record attendance or membership information.
- • Track and manage prop inventories; select, store, and issue equipment as needed.
- • Organize workshops, series, or special events for students.
- • Guide safe participation in heated classes, including hydration and heat acclimation.
- • Offer consent-based hands-on assists or use verbal/visual cues to support alignment.
