Description
Instruct individuals and groups in weight training to build strength, power, and overall fitness. Demonstrate proper lifting technique and spotting, monitor form, and design progressive, individualized programs aligned with clients’ goals, abilities, and limitations.
  • • Explain and enforce weight room safety, spotting, and equipment rules.
  • • Offer regressions, progressions, and lift variations for all ability levels.
  • • Plan periodized strength routines with appropriate exercises, sets, reps, tempo, and rest.
  • • Observe lifts and cue corrections for posture, bracing, and movement.
  • • Teach proper breathing and bracing for resistance training.
  • • Coach intensity management using load selection, RPE/RIR, and rest intervals.
  • • Demonstrate safe use of barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, machines, racks, and cables.
  • • Inspect, clean, and maintain weight equipment; report hazards.
  • • Lead individual sessions and group strength classes or circuits.
  • • Track performance metrics and adjust programs based on progress.
  • • Evaluate goals, movement, and health history to design suitable plans.
  • • Develop programs for strength, hypertrophy, power, endurance, and balanced movement.
  • • Provide basic guidance on nutrition, hydration, and recovery; refer when needed.
  • • Administer basic first aid and manage incidents; refer injuries to clinicians.
  • • Advise on footwear, attire, and optional gear (belts, straps, wrist wraps).
  • • Promote strength programs and services; maintain client records and attendance.
  • • Manage equipment inventory; set up, store, and issue weights and accessories.
  • • Organize technique clinics, mock meets, or strength challenges.
  • • Coach warm-ups, mobility drills, and cooldowns for each session.
  • • Teach safe recovery methods such as stretching, foam rolling, and heat/ice when appropriate.
