Description
Lead safe, engaging group fitness classes to improve participants’ health and performance. Demonstrate proper form, cue techniques, observe and correct movement, and design class plans with appropriate progressions and modifications for diverse abilities.
- • Explain and enforce safety rules and proper use of studio and exercise equipment.
- • Offer modifications, progressions, and alternatives to accommodate varying fitness levels and limitations.
- • Plan class formats and routines; select appropriate music and sequence movements for targeted muscle groups.
- • Demonstrate correct form and technique and provide real-time, corrective cues.
- • Teach proper breathing, alignment, and pacing during exertion.
- • Coach participants to monitor intensity and maintain safe exertion levels.
- • Teach and demonstrate safe use of group fitness equipment such as steps, dumbbells, resistance bands, cycles, and trampolines.
- • Set up, inspect, clean, and maintain class equipment and studio spaces.
- • Monitor attendance, engagement, and progress; adapt classes based on participant needs.
- • Evaluate participants’ abilities, needs, and physical conditions to deliver safe, effective classes.
- • Provide general guidance and resources on nutrition, hydration, and healthy lifestyle habits.
- • Administer basic first aid and respond to incidents; refer injured participants to medical professionals as needed.
- • Advise participants on appropriate footwear and attire for specific class types.
- • Promote classes and programs, support membership or package sales, and record participant information.
- • Maintain equipment inventories; select, store, issue, and organize class equipment.
- • Organize and lead special events, challenges, or community workouts to drive engagement.
- • Lead a variety of group fitness formats within certification scope, such as cardio, strength, cycle, or mind-body classes.
- • Foster a positive, inclusive environment and encourage participant motivation and adherence.
