Description
Coach individuals and teams in strength and conditioning to enhance performance, durability, and overall fitness. Demonstrate proper lifting technique, observe and cue corrections, and maintain a safe training environment. Assess needs and implement periodized, individualized programs aligned with sport and goals.
- • Enforce weight room safety protocols and proper equipment use.
- • Provide exercise regressions and progressions for varied strength and skill levels.
- • Design periodized strength and conditioning programs aligned with goals and calendars.
- • Observe lifts and deliver cues to correct technique and posture.
- • Teach bracing, breathing, and spotting techniques for heavy lifts.
- • Coach loading, intensity, volume, and tempo to achieve training adaptations.
- • Demonstrate and teach use of barbells, racks, platforms, dumbbells, kettlebells, and other strength tools.
- • Inspect, clean, and maintain strength training equipment and facilities.
- • Lead dynamic warm-ups, mobility, and activation routines.
- • Lead strength, power, and conditioning sessions for individuals and teams.
- • Track performance metrics (loads, reps, velocity, jumps) and adjust programs.
- • Assess movement, strength, and injury history to tailor programs and return-to-play progressions.
- • Plan long-term athlete development across off-season and in-season phases.
- • Provide basic guidance on nutrition, hydration, sleep, and recovery; refer to licensed professionals when needed.
- • Respond to injuries with basic first aid and coordinate care with athletic trainers or medical staff.
- • Advise on appropriate footwear, belts, wraps, and other supportive gear.
- • Coordinate sport-specific strength and power work with sport coaches and practice schedules.
- • Maintain inventories, order supplies, and manage storage and setup of training equipment.
- • Organize testing days, combine-style assessments, and max-out sessions.
- • Recommend cooldowns and simple recovery strategies within scope of practice.
- • Use software to schedule sessions, record attendance, and maintain training logs.
