Description
Lead individuals and groups in mat and apparatus Pilates to improve strength, mobility, posture, and body awareness. Demonstrate exercises and alignment, observe clients, and provide precise verbal and tactile cues to correct form and prevent injury. Evaluate abilities and goals to develop and progress customized Pilates programs.
- • Explain and enforce studio safety protocols and proper use of Pilates apparatus.
- • Offer modifications and progressions to accommodate varying abilities, injuries, and prenatal/postnatal needs.
- • Plan class sequences and private sessions targeting core strength, flexibility, balance, and posture.
- • Cue alignment, breath, and control; correct form with clear verbal and tactile guidance.
- • Teach Pilates breathing techniques and proper engagement of the core and pelvic floor.
- • Coach clients to maintain appropriate intensity, tempo, and resistance for their goals.
- • Demonstrate and teach use of Pilates equipment, including Reformers, Cadillacs, Chairs, and Barrels, plus rings, bands, and balls.
- • Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment; check springs, straps, and rails for wear.
- • Conduct mat and apparatus sessions for general fitness, cross-training, and post-rehab support within scope.
- • Assess posture, movement patterns, and contraindications; develop individualized programs.
- • Track client progress and adjust programming, springs, and exercises as needed.
- • Provide guidance on ergonomics, posture, and recovery; refer clients to healthcare providers when appropriate.
- • Administer basic first aid and follow incident procedures; refer injured clients to medical professionals.
- • Advise clients on appropriate attire, grip socks, and accessory safety.
- • Educate individuals and groups on Pilates principles, repertoire, and studio etiquette.
- • Promote studio offerings and packages; manage bookings, attendance, and client records.
- • Maintain prop inventories and organize storage; set up and break down equipment for classes.
- • Lead workshops, challenges, or community events to engage and retain clients.
- • Coordinate with physical therapists or trainers to support clients’ programs, as permitted.
- • Uphold professional boundaries and obtain consent before hands-on cueing.
