Description
Process credit applications by gathering and verifying applicant information, reviewing credit data, and preparing files for underwriting or approval. Maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with policies and regulations, communicate decisions and conditions, and coordinate account setup after approval.
  • • Receive and log credit applications from customers, sales, or online channels.
  • • Collect and verify applicant identity, employment, income, and address documentation.
  • • Pull and review credit bureau reports and other third-party data.
  • • Compile and analyze credit information to assess risk and completeness.
  • • Enter and update application data in processing systems.
  • • Perform preliminary credit reviews against established guidelines.
  • • Prepare application files and recommendations for underwriters or credit officers.
  • • Communicate application status, required conditions, and decisions to applicants and internal partners.
  • • Generate and deliver required disclosures, approval letters, and adverse action notices.
  • • Track pipeline, aging, and turn times to meet service-level agreements.
  • • Conduct verification calls or electronic checks with employers, landlords, and references.
  • • Review public records for bankruptcies, liens, judgments, or other derogatory items.
  • • Maintain accurate records of applications, decisions, and account setup activities.
  • • Initiate account setup and coordinate card or account issuance after approval.
  • • Resolve applicant inquiries and discrepancies; escalate potential fraud or exceptions.
  • • Prepare periodic reports on processing volume, approvals and declines, and outstanding conditions.
