Description
Evaluate and authorize credit for individuals or businesses by analyzing credit history, financial data, and risk. Interview applicants, verify information, determine creditworthiness, set terms or limits, process applications, and communicate approvals or adverse actions in compliance with policy and regulations.
  • • Maintain accurate records of customer credit limits, charges, payments, and collateral.
  • • Compile and analyze credit reports, financial statements, and trade data to assess risk.
  • • Obtain applicant information from banks, credit bureaus, and trade references; share data per policy.
  • • Interview applicants by phone or in person to gather personal and financial information.
  • • Evaluate credit scores, payment histories, and capacity to approve or recommend terms per standards.
  • • Ensure transactions are posted correctly to accounts for billing and credit monitoring.
  • • Review and process credit applications received from online channels and sales teams.
  • • Oversee issuance of statements, adverse action notices, and required disclosures.
  • • Verify identity, address, employment, and public records (bankruptcies, liens, judgments) using approved sources.
  • • Communicate credit decisions, terms, and conditions to applicants and internal stakeholders.
  • • Authorize issuance or adjustment of credit lines, cards, and account limits within delegated authority.
  • • Coordinate with collections to resolve delinquent accounts and arrange repayment plans.
  • • Resolve customer complaints and verify financial or credit transactions.
  • • Conduct reference and employment verifications in accordance with policy and law.
  • • Prepare credit memos, risk ratings, and written recommendations for approval committees.
  • • Monitor portfolio performance to identify at-risk accounts and escalate per collections strategy.
