- • Perform civil design calculations for grading, drainage, roadways, and utilities using CAD and civil design software.
- • Create detailed plan and profile sheets, cross-sections, details, and 3D models to project and code standards.
- • Analyze site constraints including topography, survey, utilities, zoning, and environmental data; prepare exhibits and maps.
- • Interpret and apply codes, standards, and specifications to guide design decisions.
- • Document design assumptions, calculations, and revisions; maintain organized project files and CAD standards.
- • Coordinate with project engineers to define scope, design criteria, schedules, and deliverables.
- • Conduct or support site visits to verify existing conditions and collect as-built information.
- • Coordinate with surveyors; import, process, and QA/QC survey and GIS data for base mapping.
- • Develop construction documents, quantities, and bid item lists; support cost estimating.
- • Identify and resolve utility conflicts and geometric constraints; evaluate and model design alternatives.
- • Build and maintain digital terrain models, alignments, corridors, and stormwater models; generate design reports.
- • Prepare grading, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater management plans.
- • Support permitting by assembling submittals and responding to agency review comments.
- • Provide construction-phase support by issuing plan revisions and responding to RFIs and shop drawings.
