- • Confer with operations, maintenance, quality, EHS, and supply chain to define process requirements and procedures.
- • Plan and direct process design, installation, commissioning, validation, and handover of equipment and systems.
- • Present process proposals, performance reports, and improvement plans to leadership and stakeholders.
- • Consult with internal clients and vendors to prepare process specifications, URS, and acceptance criteria.
- • Develop and implement programs to increase yield, efficiency, and sustainability, reducing energy, water, and waste.
- • Evaluate regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, FDA/GMP as applicable) to inform process design and operations.
- • Assess environmental impacts and lifecycle footprints of processes and recommend mitigations.
- • Identify risks and opportunities in adopting new process technologies, automation, or materials.
- • Manage integration of process engineering deliverables with production, facilities, and controls projects.
- • Direct, review, and approve process design changes and Management of Change (MOC) documentation.
- • Prepare and manage capital and expense budgets, cost estimates, and project schedules.
- • Assess feasibility of capacity expansions, product transfers, and scale-up using data, trials, and modeling.
- • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate process engineering staff and contractors.
- • Review, negotiate, and approve vendor proposals, equipment specifications, and service contracts.
- • Develop and enforce process standards, SOPs, PFDs/P&IDs, control plans, and validation protocols.
- • Perform administrative duties, including reporting, KPI tracking, compliance, and procurement approvals.
- • Establish technical goals and KPIs for safety, quality, throughput, and OEE with senior management.
- • Lead root cause analysis, process hazard analyses (PHA/HAZOP), and corrective action plans.
- • Coordinate pilot runs, trials, and process qualification with laboratory, R&D, and manufacturing teams.
