Description
Plan, direct, and coordinate electrical engineering projects and related R&D, overseeing design, development, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and products.
- • Confer with management, manufacturing, and product teams to define electrical project specifications and procedures.
- • Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and controls.
- • Present and explain electrical engineering proposals, technical reports, and findings to clients and stakeholders.
- • Consult or negotiate with clients to develop electrical scope, requirements, and specifications.
- • Develop and implement programs to improve energy efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of electrical products and operations.
- • Evaluate energy and environmental regulations affecting electrical systems to inform strategy and operations.
- • Assess the environmental impacts of electrical engineering and R&D activities.
- • Identify environmental risks and opportunities in emerging electrical technologies and product launches.
- • Manage the coordination and integration of power, electronics, controls, and instrumentation activities across projects.
- • Direct, review, and approve electrical design changes, schematics, PCB layouts, and power studies.
- • Prepare and manage electrical project budgets, bids, and contracts.
- • Assess project feasibility by analyzing electrical technologies, resource needs, cost, and demand.
- • Lead recruitment, staffing, mentoring, and performance evaluations for electrical engineers and technicians.
- • Review, negotiate, and approve electrical contracts, vendor proposals, and cost estimates.
- • Develop and enforce electrical design standards, safety procedures, and compliance with NEC/IEC/IEEE/UL.
- • Oversee administrative tasks, including technical reporting, expenditure approvals, procurement, and compliance.
- • Set electrical engineering roadmaps and technical goals aligned with organizational strategy.
- • Secure project support by coordinating with utilities, authorities having jurisdiction, and key stakeholders.
- • Plan and coordinate electrical site surveys, load studies, and commissioning with other project activities.
