Description
Support planners by processing applications, preparing maps and reports, maintaining planning data and records, and providing customer service on land use, zoning, and development projects.
- • Process and track land use, zoning, and permit applications for completeness.
- • Provide counter, phone, and online customer service on procedures, fees, and submittal requirements.
- • Research and interpret basic zoning, land use, and subdivision regulations to answer inquiries or intake checks.
- • Prepare and update maps, graphics, and exhibits using GIS, CAD, and graphic software.
- • Compile, enter, and maintain planning data, databases, and project logs.
- • Prepare routine staff reports, memoranda, charts, and statistics under supervision.

- • Coordinate with applicants, consultants, and staff to resolve submittal issues.
- • Monitor project timelines and send reminders on outstanding items or deadlines.
- • Calculate and collect application fees; issue receipts and balance daily intake.
- • Operate and maintain large-format printers, scanners, and plotters.
- • Support planners in evaluating proposals by assembling data, site histories, and exhibits.
- • Keep informed about code updates and update internal references and public handouts.
- • Perform other clerical and technical duties to support planning programs and initiatives.
