Description
Lead and supervise policing of transit and railroad property, employees, and passengers to ensure safety, security, and compliance.
- • Supervise and conduct patrols of rail yards, trains, stations, and facilities to protect property and maintain order.
- • Oversee access control and credential verification for secured transit areas.
- • Direct or assist in apprehending trespassers or thieves and coordinate with outside agencies.
- • Review and prepare incident and investigative reports for accuracy and completeness.
- • Lead or direct investigations into thefts, suspicious damage, and crimes on transit property.
- • Command security and scene management at derailments, fires, floods, strikes, or other emergencies.
- • Assign, direct, and evaluate daily activities and training of officers.
- • Oversee background investigations and reference checks for prospective hires.
- • Plan and implement safety and preventive programs, such as fire or accident prevention.
