Description
Lead and supervise policing of transit and railroad property, employees, and passengers to ensure safety, security, and compliance.
  • • Supervise and conduct patrols of rail yards, trains, stations, and facilities to protect property and maintain order.
  • • Oversee access control and credential verification for secured transit areas.
  • • Direct or assist in apprehending trespassers or thieves and coordinate with outside agencies.
  • • Review and prepare incident and investigative reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • • Lead or direct investigations into thefts, suspicious damage, and crimes on transit property.
  • • Command security and scene management at derailments, fires, floods, strikes, or other emergencies.
  • • Assign, direct, and evaluate daily activities and training of officers.
  • • Oversee background investigations and reference checks for prospective hires.
  • • Plan and implement safety and preventive programs, such as fire or accident prevention.
  • • Monitor transit operations and conduct security audits to protect facilities, patrons, and staff.
  • • Ensure enforcement of transit-related laws and regulations and address violations.
  • • Deliver or coordinate training for staff and the public on transit safety and security.
