Description
Lead and manage a police command, overseeing patrol, investigations, and incident response to protect people, property, and critical infrastructure, including transit systems.
- • Set patrol strategies for stations, transit hubs, and high-risk facilities to maintain order and protect property.
- • Establish and enforce access-control and credentialing protocols for secured areas.
- • Oversee apprehensions and removals of trespassers and offenders; coordinate with partner agencies.
- • Review and approve incident and investigative reports for accuracy and completeness.
- • Direct and prioritize investigations of theft, vandalism, and crimes affecting passengers, employees, or shipments.
- • Serve as incident commander at derailments, fires, floods, strikes, or other major events.
- • Manage daily operations, staffing, scheduling, and training of sworn and civilian personnel.
- • Oversee background investigations of candidates, verifying references and work histories.
- • Develop and implement safety, crime-prevention, and risk-reduction programs.
- • Ensure security patrols and checks of transit areas; analyze trends to target enforcement.
- • Direct traffic safety enforcement initiatives and address violations within the jurisdiction.
- • Lead public outreach and interagency training on safety, security, and emergency response.
