Description
Investigate crimes against railroad property, cargo, employees, and passengers; conduct surveillance, gather evidence, and coordinate with law enforcement to identify and apprehend offenders.
- • Conduct targeted patrols and surveillance of yards, trains, and stations to detect criminal activity.
- • Verify access credentials and audit secured areas during investigations.
- • Investigate theft, vandalism, fraud, assaults, and other crimes affecting railroad operations.
- • Collect, preserve, and process physical and digital evidence; maintain chain of custody.
- • Review CCTV, access-control logs, and telematics to identify suspects and crime patterns.
- • Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects; obtain statements and affidavits.
- • Prepare detailed investigative reports, case files, and referrals for prosecution.
- • Coordinate and execute arrests, search warrants, and suspect apprehensions with partner agencies.
- • Secure and manage crime scenes at derailments, fires, or other major incidents.
