Description
Patrol assigned areas to protect life and property, enforce laws and ordinances, respond to emergencies, and ensure public safety.
  • • Patrol assigned beats, neighborhoods, and public facilities to deter crime and maintain order.
  • • Enforce criminal and traffic laws and issue warnings or citations as appropriate.
  • • Respond to calls for service, alarms, and emergencies and take appropriate action.
  • • Detain and arrest suspects and remove trespassers or disorderly persons, coordinating with other agencies as needed.
  • • Check identification, credentials, and warrants in restricted areas or during investigations.
  • • Prepare detailed incident, arrest, and investigative reports.
  • • Investigate thefts, property damage, suspicious activity, and other crimes; collect evidence and interview witnesses.
  • • Secure and manage scenes at crashes, fires, hazardous conditions, or public disturbances; control access and ensure safety.
  • • Conduct security checks of businesses, schools, transit hubs, and critical infrastructure.
  • • Plan or support safety and crime-prevention initiatives and special operations.
  • • Direct or assist with daily shift activities and mentor or train new officers as assigned.
  • • Provide community outreach and safety education and build relationships with residents and businesses.
